3G technology was hyped up as the next big thing in mobile phones. However, it has failed to take off at least in UK. Less than 11 percent of the population in UK had 3G on their mobile phones till 2006. This number had reached to 18% by the end of 2007, yet there has not been any visible influence in the consumer market.
