Web 2.0 Awareness Among Indian Teenagers

A survey conducted by Tata Consultancy Services among 14000 kids in the 12 biggest cities of India shows the following interesting statistics:

93% of students were aware of online social networking websites like Facebook and Orkut
39% of students were active on blogging and social networking
46% of students accessed news online compared to 25% who read newspapers
41% of students used Google as the primary source for information gathering. Wikipedia was second.
Google and Wikipedia were more popular sources for information than library. The highest percent of library users from any particular city was 14% from Cochin
