Presence of Online Pharma Marketing Opportunity

A significant population of the physician population has begun to engage in the online social media thus initiating a new marketing opportunity online for the pharma industry. According to the study, among the physician community connected to the internet, over 63 percent were engaged in the various pharma sponsored marketing programs including online detailing, compared to 53 percent of the unconnected physician population.

The study also found that nearly 66 percent of the connected physicians forwarded useful content they found on the internet to their colleagues while 58 percent of them recommended specific websites to their patients.
