Most Popular Online Brands

What brands do people love online. A survey was done by Forrester Research and every respondent was given an opportunity to mention two internet brands. And it’s not too surprising that Google topped the list. My personal two brands would have been Google and TechCrunch (if that was an option!)

Here are America’s top ten online brands for 2009
1. Google
2. Yahoo
3. Amazon
4. Facebook
5. eBay
6. Microsoft
7. Youtube
8. MySpace
9. Apple
10. Sony

Over 45% of respondents had voted for Google and that speaks volumes about their branding.

I very surprised that Amazon is at No. 3 position. I though it had lost a lot of its brand value……….. :) hmmmmmmmmmm.

I guess it is still a decently popular brand in the US. And especially after the launch of their e-reader, Kindle, the brand name should have jumped up a few notches.

Techcrunch ? What a ridiculous statement , unless it was stated for fun. In spite of the recent lull a typical big company faces during the roller-coaster ride and other drama created by blogs like techcrunch for eyeballs , isn’t suprising that Yahoo! is still in the top two in minds of people ! This speaks volumes of what that brand can do if it get its act together being number one in many of the top media properties. Wake up the world is just techies……though I am one of them.

No I am serious..Anyway, I can’t force myself to like Yahoo., can I? Especially since I found their ‘It’s You’ campaign a bit too vague..
