IPv4 vs. IPv6 – Why A Migration To IPv6 Is Necessary

Of late, there has been a lot of talk about the need for companies to move to a new IPv6 in order to avoid the imminent running out of web addresses. Here is why it is necessary

IPv4 and IPv6 are protocols for creating web addresses. The former creates 32 bit addresses while the latter uses 128 bits. IPv4 can provide 4.3 billion unique IP addresses.

Compare this with 340,282,366,920,938,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 IP addresses IPv6 provides!

That is very much sufficient for much of mankind to follow!
