How does internet censorship works?

Australia recently announced new censorship laws from Jan 20, 2008. If the content is for mature audiences, the website has to verify age of the viewers (Mature audience : MA15+ and for R rated R18+). This censorship laws come from The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
