Consumer Response To Internet Ads In UK

UK is among the very few countries where ad spending on internet exceeds the spending on traditional advertising media. A study by KeyNote studied the exposure of Brits to online ads and classifieds to see their response ratio. Here are some results from the study

Accessed Internet In The Past 12 Months
2008 : 68%
2009 : 78.5%

Users Who Clicked On An Internet Ad
2008 : 28%
2009 : 31.6%

Visited Websites That Had Classified Ads
2008 : 41%
2009 : 46.8%

The results are interesting because there is a huge disparity between the numbers revealed here about the percent of users clicking on ads to another study released by Chitika late last year. In the other study, it was claimed that only 2% of internet users click on ads.
