Cell Phone Ownership Among Children

In August last year, I had written about the cell phone ownership among teenagers. A recent study by MediaMark R&I group studies cell phone ownership among the pre-teens as of 2009. The corresponding numbers for 2005 is given in brackets

Age-wise
6-7 years : 6.5% (4.9% in 2005)
8-9 years : 17.7% (10.6%)
10-11 years : 36.1% (20%)

Gender-wise
Boys : 18.3% (12.4% in 2007)
Girls : 21.8% (18.6% in 2007)
