Where Do Most Spams Come From?
Last week, Symantec announced that most spams come from Europe. But a news release by Sophos claims that Asia is where most spams originate from. According to this list, the Spam contribution from the different continents are
Asia - 32.1%
Europe - 27.1%
North America - 26.5%
South America - 12.5%
Africa - 1.1%

How Many Web Pages Attacked Per Day?
A web page is attacked every 14 seconds. This makes the average number of attacks on websites to 6000 per day. 80 percent of these attacks are by hackers who hack the websites and host malware on their servers without the knowledges of the site owners.
Where Do Most Spams Come From?
While a random guesser would say Nigeria is where most spams come from, Symantec says Europe is where most Spams originate. For the third month in a row, spams from Europe have outnumbered North America.

Largest Single Source of Spam
Storm worm botnet had accounted for 21 percent of all spam in September 2007. Since then, the new Mega-D Botnet has been steadily increasing in numbers and according to security vendor, Marshal, it now accounts for 32 percent of all spam sent.
Mega-D is hence currently the largest single source of spam.
Spambot that affected New Year Holiday the most
Storm Botnet has almost tripled its size this holiday season from Christmas to New year owing to innumerable people assuming the spam bots to be genuine e-greetings and clicking the links. There are over 40000 affected computers online at a time.
