I do not have a comprehensive distribution chart for the users of popular business networking website LinkedIn. However, according to a recent blog post by the LinkedIn CEO, here is what we know

Major user locations
USA : 25 million
Europe : 11 million
India : 3 million

India is the country with the fastest overall growth while Netherlands is the country with fastest growth per capita outside US at 30%

Over 95% of college student in the US have access to the Internet. This number is likely to increase over the next five years where it will cross the 96% barrier. Here are the projected internet users numbers as a percent of total college goers in the country

American Facebook Users Age Demographics

Close to one-fifths of Facebook users are now above the age of 45, which is interesting because this can potentially be detrimental to one another social networkClassmates.com, one of the earliest social networks where a good majority are the older people looking for lost classmates.

I don’t get it. Isn’t there even a fraction of the population that is above 65 or below 13?

Male-Female Gender Ratio of American Mobile Internet Users

Mobile internet users in USA increased by 34% in the past year and they now number around 56.9 million. The growth rate among women was higher than men by 9 percentage points. But ultimately, there are still more men than women on the mobile web

Male-Female Gender Ratio on Major Social Networks

Women rule in most of the social networks, except one, where they just cannot beat the men anytime soon – Digg.com. Also, never knew Twitter, MySpace and Facebook were all so girly. Wonder if all those fake accounts on Twitter were discounted or not.
