What Percent of America Newly Owned an iPod Last Quarter?
40 percent of iPod sales in the fourth quarter of 2007 were from first time buyers. That is 40 percent of 22.1 million iPods that were sold in this time period. This roughly translates to 3 percent of America buying iPod for actually the first time just in the single quarter. Since the total sales was 22.1 million, this translates to 7 percent of America buying an iPod just in the last quarter of 2007.
Sales Target for iPhone in 2008
Apple COO has made a sales forecast of 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. Mr.Cook says with the progress till now, the company is on the right track to reach that sales figure. iPhones are now available in USA, UK, Germany and France and the company has sold more than 4 million units till the end of last year.
Worldwide Distribution of Unlocked iPhones
Apple has an agreement with AT&T to sell iPhones enabled with only the latter’s network. However unlocking the iPhone is not that uncommon, if not easy.
