December 2008 : 16% drop

Recession Effect On Number Of Jobs Posted Online
There are 1.13 million lesser job requirements posted online in US for January 2009 compared to November 2008 taking the total number of job ads posted online to 3.355 million. However, job demand is increasing with over 10.75 million unemployed and looking for work.
However, two American states still have more job vacancies posted online than the number of unemployed. These are North Dakota and Wyoming.
