Growth of Broadband Connectivity Worldwide
In 1998, there were 57,200 broadband subscribers worldwide. In ten years, this number has grown exponentially to reach 400 million. The growth rate of broadband connection globally over these ten years is 600,000 percent.
Fiber broadband is growing fast to catch up with DSL, which is the most popular way to connect by broadband. In 2002 there were 18,000 fiber broadband connections. Now this number is 45 million.

There are 49 million Internet users in India; 40 million from the Urban areas. 35 million people access Internet regularly. This is a 19 percent jump from last year. 25 million people access Internet everyday.
87% of Home users access the Internet everyday. A home computer is used by 2.3 people on an average compared to 1.8 at office. One out of Seven Home users is an exclusive user.

4.4 percent of AT&T subscribers viewed mobile video in August
4.2 percent of Sprint subscribers viewed mobile video in August
2.4 percent of T-Mobile and Verizon subscribers viewed mobile video in August
2.8% of all wireless subscribers viewed mobile video in the month. That translates to 6.5 million subscribers in US. Of them 3.6 million watched on-demand videos; the popular categories being amateur clips, music, comedies and movie trailers.
