Google has announced a major landmark. The search engine has now crawled 1 trillion unique URLs. Here is how Google grew in terms of number of indexed URLs

1998 : 26,000,000 (26 million web pages)
2000 : 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion web pages)
2008 : 1,000,000,000,000 (1 Trillion web pages)

Race/Ethnicity of bloggers in USA (in percentage)

White – 69.7%
Hispanic – 20%
African American – 12.2%
Asian – 3.7%

Text Messaging is popular, but only among the people who use it frequently. Here are the results of a recent survey in the US:

Text message every week or even more : 15%
Message monthly or less : 3%
Have never sent an SMS : 82%

The share has hovered in the teens among the different geographies:

Western Europe : 18.2%
Japan : 16.3%
US : 14.6%
Worldwide : 13.6%

New versions of browsers are often the most secure. The readiness of the users to update to the latest versions of the browsers that they use, is however very much different among the different browser users. The percent of users who are using the latest versions of the different browsers:

Firefox : 83%
Safari : 65%
Opera : 56%
Internet Explorer : 47%
